March Madness Recap 2026
Welcome to our Monthly Recap. Every month we will recap highlights in our art, new releases, new friends/ fans shout outs, and of course all the shows we’ve attended this month. Since our website is brand new, and so is most of our art, all new releases/ new projects can be found in our SHOP. For all upcoming shows CLICK HERE.
Let’s begin.
- Heather Nycole
So, here we are, taking the first steps in our pokemon style second evolution (but really it’s like our sixth life, let’s be real). Effort began in earnest back in September of ‘25 marking a major move for both of us. Gathering materials, collecting finished projects, late nights blending or folding paper (often both), research, paperwork, meetings, arguments. All the proper ingredients for a career in “THE ARTS”. And all things considered, not a bad beginning. We knew WE liked our art, we needed to discover if anyone else would like it enough to spend money on it.
We set up our website, built portfolios, booked gigs. We let the government know, made it official in the eyes of the officials with a DBA. We secured equipment and accessories. Banners and lights, displays and branded packaging. Heather put paint to canvas as official business owner ‘The Ginger Artist’; I grabbed carving tools and made print blocks under the artist name, ‘SecretLynx’. We rehearsed our setup, over and over, talking about every aspect that we love about being a customer and what we want to bring to each and every show. Once we had the canopy and tabletop, the REAL set up and breakdown testing began, at night, in windy conditions.
Then finally, the day came for First Friday in March, ARTHAUS in downtown New Braunfels. Great show, great people, so much talent, such a welcoming community and for a modest affair, it was a delight. And success! Our hard work paid off. Set up and breakdown were smooth, our booth was our own and unlike any of the other vendors. We mixed nicely while standing out, both for being the new show in town and for being welcoming and charismatic. It was not without incident, but nothing we weren't prepared for or couldn't handle. And the introductions we made with the local creator community was worth twice the financial return.
Its phase one, still just the beginning, but the effort is already bearing fruit. Come, join us in our frolics.
